The Dallas Cowboys Believe They Have a Realistic Chance of Restoring Official Tyrone

 

Smith to the 53-Man Roster The Dallas Cowboys made it abundantly clear in the early stages of this season that they believed they had a realistic chance of restoring official Tyrone Smith to the 53-man roster. Smith, who was placed on the team's injured reserve list on August 31, has been trending toward returning to practice the past few weeks. Although it is still unknown whether he will play during the final weeks of the regular season, it is anticipated that he will return to practice this week.

In the latter half of his career, official Tyrone Smith has been dealing with a number of injuries. Ended August, he suffered an avulsion fracture in his left knee and has been sidelined ever since. Dallas was 6-2 going into their bye, so his return would come at a crucial time of the season. He has also made significant contributions on special teams, and upon his return, he should be given a larger role in the rotation of defensive linemen.

Tyler Smith started all six Cowboys games after being selected in the 24th round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In addition to having three penalties in his first six games, he has been playing well beyond his years.
