Latest Boxing Rating

The latest boxing rating is based on a number of different factors. While results are arguably the most important factor, a fighter's accomplishments and track record also play a significant role. In addition to performance, a fighter's rating is also affected by the quality of the opposition he faces. The editors of THE RING magazine compile these ratings, with the help of a panel of boxing journalists.

Jesse Rodriguez moves up from a previous ranking of 29

Rodriguez moved up from 29th to 27th in the boxing rating after a stunning performance that gave him a unanimous decision over Miguel Cotto. He had earlier said that his power isn't as strong as his opponent's, but he's now ranked number nine in the WBN Pound for Pound list. Afterwards, he was interviewed by Chris Mannix and said that his power isn't as good as his opponent's.

Before his KO loss, Gonzalez talked about a potential fight with Inoue, but he wanted more money. However, the talks stalled after Gonzalez was stopped. Now, Inoue is in a similar position as Gonzalez was five years ago. He is ranked No. 2 on ESPN and No. 1 on The Ring's pound-for-pound rankings. Inoue is only 29 years old, but he is still a top contender and is seeking international recognition. His biggest challenge might be Inoue's pound-for-pound supremacy.

Terence Crawford drops one place to accommodate Canelo

Terence Crawford has dropped one place to accommodate Canelo Alvarez, but he's still ahead of his former foe. Crawford is the undisputed welterweight champion and currently sits at #3 in Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound rankings. But Crawford has yet to score a career-defining victory.

Canelo's failure to dominate GGG เรตมวยล่าสุด last week pushed him down a notch. This could allow Crawford to rise one spot and push Canelo out of the top 10. Canelo and Crawford will fight again this fall, so the top contenders in the division will likely change their rankings.

Usyk threatens to drop out of the top 15

Oleksandr Usyk is on an incredible run. He won gold at the 2012 Olympics and has become the first undisputed cruiserweight champion in the four-belt era. Most recently, he won his second consecutive fight against Anthony Joshua. Usyk has proven to be a real road warrior. He has won in Latvia, Russia, and the U.K.

Usyk's victory over Briedis was widely regarded as his toughest fight to date. The win was a majority decision, and it was Usyk's first fight without a knockout or a unanimous decision. Although Usyk received a cut around his eye in Round 5, he was able to rebound and win. While he landed only 212 punches against Briedis' 313, his speed and aggression helped him score the victory.

Criteria used to determine a boxing rating

There are a number of factors that go into determining a boxing rating. The first is the amount of bouts in which a boxer has competed. The higher the number of bouts, the higher the rating. The second factor is the level of competition. For example, if a boxer has competed in eight bouts but has won the last two, his rating will be higher than his opponent's. However, if a boxer has not competed for a full ten rounds in a division, he or she will be deducted from the boxing rating.

Another important factor is the level of determination and aggression. The boxer must be able to force action without being too aggressive. They must also score punches while avoiding counter punches. The boxer should also be able to control the tempo of the bout and set the pace.
